Home > Ventilation System Cleaning (HVAC)
Ventilation systems circulate air throughout the entire ship or building, carrying with it dust, grease, and germs that accumulate in ducts and equipment over the years. Our ventilation cleaning services cover HVAC systems, air ducts, and kitchen exhaust systems, performed professionally in accordance with VDI 6032, with over 30 years of experience on naval and civilian ships, in shipyards, and on land.
From the supply air to the kitchen exhaust air, we clean and inspect the entire ventilation system, including a camera inspection and a report on our findings. The four core areas:
Drip separators, fans, and heater and cooling coils, cleaned using the dry-wet method or, as needed, wet cleaning.
Grease-removing wet cleaning of ducts, exhaust hoods, and filters to reduce the risk of fire.
Automated cleaning using high-performance flexural waves and rotating brushes, vacuum extraction, and camera monitoring.
Visual inspection, microbiological testing in accordance with VDI 6032, and accredited laboratory analysis with a test report.
Hygiene Inspection in Accordance with VDI 6032
For supply air, recirculation, and return air systems, we conduct hygiene inspections in accordance with VDI 6032. For exhaust-only systems, as well as kitchen and sanitary exhaust systems, inspections are performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines. Depending on the agreement, our team will perform a visual inspection, microbiological testing, and sampling. The analysis is performed at an accredited partner laboratory. You will receive a reliable assessment of your system’s hygienic condition, which serves as a basis for operation, maintenance, or repair.
Evaluation and Documentation
Before and during the work, we document any defects and hygiene concerns we identify in an inspection report that includes photos and a repair proposal. Upon completion, you will receive a service report with complete photographic documentation for your operational records and to meet your documentation requirements.

Kitchen Exhaust Air: Hygiene and Fire Safety
Grease and moisture build up particularly quickly in kitchen exhaust systems. This poses a risk to hygiene and fire safety. We clean kitchen exhaust ducts using the chemical wet cleaning method: grease-dissolving cleaners, rotating high-performance brushes, and—preferably by hand—in short sections. We use chemicals selectively and only in the necessary amounts to prevent leaks. Upon request, we’ll clean range hoods and filters at the same time.

Cleaning of Air Ducts
Air ducts form the distribution system of every ventilation system. To clean them, we use mechanical methods involving high-performance flexible shafts of various sizes, as well as rotating and oscillating brushes. Loosened contaminants are extracted via negative pressure through a dust collector. We isolate individual sections of the ductwork using mobile devices. Access is gained through existing access panels or grating inlets; where access points are missing, we install them upon consultation. After each step, we inspect the results using a camera.
That depends on usage and the environment. Due to the high grease content, kitchen exhaust systems should be cleaned much more frequently than standard supply air systems. After an initial assessment, we will provide you with a specific recommendation—which, if you wish, can be included in a maintenance contract with fixed service intervals.
Yes. We coordinate with the construction management team, work within the shipyard’s schedule, and are familiar with the procedures on board. We clarify in advance and transparently what preparatory work is required on the shipyard’s part (access points, electricity, compressed air).
If inspection openings are missing, we will install them in a suitable location as agreed. Electronic field devices, such as sensors, are documented and removed prior to cleaning.
Yes. A diagnostic report beforehand, and an incident report with photographic documentation upon completion, supplemented by microbiological lab results upon request.
Tell us about your system. We'll get back to you within a few business days with an honest assessment.
